Best for open rebuke,
Than love that is hidden;
And better than a fluke,
By something forbidden.
The wounds made by a friend,
Are intended to aid;
Not for friendship to end,
But to seal the bonds made.
One who fulfills his soul,
Hungers not for money;
For he has reached his goal,
Getting milk and honey.
Like a bird wandering,
Out away from the nest;
So man is pondering,
How can he do his best.
Perfume makes the heart glad,
Incense will sooth the mind;
No longer feeling sad,
Feeling peaceful and kind.
Abandon not your friend,
Nor avoid your neighbor;
Continue to defend,
Helping with their labor.
Be wise in all you say,
Make gladness in your heart;
As you trust and obey,
With all that you impart.
Prudent man sees evil,
Gullible men do not;
As prey for the devil,
Gullible men are caught.
Whoever blesses you,
In the morning today;
Ensure he tells you true,
Not a curse as to stray.
Iron sharpens iron,
So can you sharpen wits;
If you are not stubborn,
You will find the shoe fits.
