Come children, listen to me,
To teach the fear of the Lord;
For the insight as to see,
Never let Him be ignored.
Which of you wants a full life,
And who would like to live long;
Always being free from strife,
Having nothing to go wrong.
Live long to enjoy good things,
Things that are pleasing to God;
Whenever favor it brings,
That will not cause getting flawed.
Keep your tongue from evil things,
That causes deceitful thoughts;
Sayings that corruption clings,
And would be causing dark blots.
Something from your lips and tongue,
Any words that you would speak;
Other ears catch what is flung,
Wrong impressions they will seek.
Turn away from the evil,
And do only what is good;
Stay away from the devil,
So you can do what you should.
Seek peace with all the others,
Pursue what is right with them;
Making them as your brothers,
Never trying to condemn.
Eyes of the Lord are on you,
Among the righteous people;
He hears your prayers what is true,
And sees you in His temple.
The Lord confronts what is bad,
To wipe out all memory;
And making the righteous glad,
To make evil history.
The Lord is near to those hearts,
Saving spirits that are crushed;
Ensuring that evil departs,
Down the drain that it is flushed
