Everybody served the Lord,
Through the lifetime of the leaders;
While staying in one accord,
Of all the spiritual feeders.
Beyond the time who had survived,
Of the lifetime of Joshua;
Praising with song as they had strived,
Sang from the heart for each stanza.
For they had seen all of the deeds,
All of the works that Lord had done;
They were astounded by the seeds,
Spreading them to ease their burden.
It was a whole generation,
Had joined their ancestors in death;
But then was a separation,
No praise was coming from their breath.
A new generation had grown,
With no carnal experience;
About the Lord upon His throne,
And reasons for obedience.
The Lord had considered evil,
All that Israel was doing;
Being the work of the devil,
The immoral acts pursuing.
They worshipped the gods around them,
Other gods that made God upset;
And He decided to condemn,
Using foes to make them regret.
Whenever they went off to war,
No longer to defeat their foes;
Because the Lord had locked the door,
On His might to add to their woes.
God said He has taken an oath,
And made them suffer a great deal;
Because of the cancerous growth,
For having such a lustful zeal.
They would not listen to the judge,
As they had merely turned away;
Since they were now holding a grudge,
As the generation to stray.
