The Lighthouse

Date:

The Spirit of the Almighty Lord,
Is the Lord that anointed me;
And should not let it be ignored,
For the future that you can see.

Proclaim the Good News to the people,
For the brokenhearted to heal;
Set free captives with the Gospel,
Release them for giving them zeal.

Vindicate the year of the Lord,
And the day for vengeance by God;
Letting it never be ignored,
How much you are righteously flawed.

He has sent me to provide those,
Who are grieving here on this earth;
Showing them where the blessing flows,
And how much is their lawful worth.

Give them their crowns instead of ash,
Oil of joy instead of grief;
Guarding them from all the backlash,
So they are able to get relief.

Clothe them of praise not of weakness,
To be called Oaks of Righteousness;
Planted and rooted amongst bleakness,
Implanted into consciousness.

Ancient ruins they will rebuild,
Destroyed long ago be restored;
Cities renewed Spirit instilled,
Being directed by the Lord.

Foreigners are to come forward,
And become shepherds for your flock;
As a child be a steward,
Work the vineyards and fields you walk.

You are priests, servants of the Lord,
Consuming wealth of the nation;
While showing He is adored,
For giving joy and salvation.

You will receive double the wealth,
Instead of the insult and shame;
Increasing your spiritual health,
The more that you boast and proclaim.

Richard Sherrer is actually retired from the United States Air Force about 14 years ago. He had lived in Korea while in the Air Force in 1972 and 1973. You might be asking yourself what brought him back to Korea. I guess you could say that it was a lot of love here, for the country, the people and especially for a Christian woman that he met on the Internet. She convinced him to return to be with her. So he came originally to teach English in July of 2000. They were married July of 2001. Now turned poet which is subject that is near and dear to his heart. His love for Christ and God is an inspiration to all who read his poetry.
