The Midst of Trials

Date:

Place yourself in the confidence,
Of all your spiritual leaders;
Their words will be your best defense,
Against those who are impeders.

All of you must serve each other,
With humility as humble;
Treat them as sister and brother,
Never resentful to grumble.

The Lord opposes arrogance,
Rather favors the modesty;
Anyone with the diligence,
And having the integrity.

Be humbled by the mighty God,
So that when it is the right time;
He will give you honor and laud,
As He helps you making the climb.

Give your anxiety to Him,
Because of His caring for you;
No need for you be feeling grim,
Or a negative point of view.

Remember to keep your mind clear,
But always remain on alert;
So you will not be showing fear,
If someone tries to cause you hurt.

Your opponent is the devil,
Who is prowling like a lion;
To devour you with evil,
The midst of trials can toughen.

Be firm in your faith to resist,
Knowing others suffer the same;
No matter how much they persist,
Remember what Christ did proclaim.

God who shows you of His kindness,
And who is calling you through Christ;
To His glory and blessedness,
Will restore you when sacrificed.

His power is making you strong,
And will support you forever;
So agony will not prolong,
As faithfulness will not sever.

Richard Sherrer is actually retired from the United States Air Force about 14 years ago. He had lived in Korea while in the Air Force in 1972 and 1973. You might be asking yourself what brought him back to Korea. I guess you could say that it was a lot of love here, for the country, the people and especially for a Christian woman that he met on the Internet. She convinced him to return to be with her. So he came originally to teach English in July of 2000. They were married July of 2001. Now turned poet which is subject that is near and dear to his heart. His love for Christ and God is an inspiration to all who read his poetry.
