Do your best in front of the Lord,
As a tried and true disciple;
His teachings will not be ignored,
Live according to the Gospel.
Avoid the pointless discussions,
They cause you to be ungodly;
The possible accusations,
Making you disdainful boldly.
What they say will spread like cancer,
Because they abandoned the truth;
Tongues speak like a piercing lancer,
Becoming moody and uncouth.
Your faith they will try to destroy,
Causing a purity battle;
Like a fly they try to annoy,
Treating all of us like cattle.
O how the ungodly have lied,
About someone comes back to life;
Saying that people who have died,
Ceasing to exist after strife.
But we have a firm foundation,
That the words are engraved in stone;
Those who believe have salvation,
Will see the Lord upon His throne.
The Lord knows who belong to Him,
Worship Him and do no more wrong;
He will give you spiritual vim,
Able to make you to live long.
Stay away from the tempting lust,
Pursue what God gives approval;
Only pursue in godly trust,
Confessing for sin removal.
Worship the Lord with a pure heart,
Pursuing of faith, love, and peace;
Stupid arguments must depart,
Any and all quarrelling must cease.
Just be kind to everyone,
Always being a good teacher;
Because you belong to the Son,
In becoming a new creature.
