The first promise was made with blood,
Long after the great global flood;
As the teaching of Moses told,
For the plan of God to unfold.
Moses told every command,
That the Law of God did demand;
Taking the blood of calves and goats,
The altar had received its coats.
He sprinkled the scroll and people,
That assembled in the temple;
For the blood has sealed the promise,
That God has made through the premise.
Moses sprinkled blood on the tent,
As a method for to repent;
And all the things used in worship,
Cleansing our relationship.
The sins could not be forgiven,
And no chance to go to Heaven;
If shedding blood had not been done,
As before the blood of the Son.
Heavenly things had to be cleaned,
As purified and quarantined;
Just as it was with Jesus Christ,
Who on the cross was sacrificed.
Christ had gone to a holy place,
While the Father shed His grace;
Heaven not made with human hands,
Rather through the Word He commands.
He went to Heaven to revere,
And join the Father to appear;
As Lord of all and the chief priest,
Preparing for our great feast.
The lifeblood of Christ takes away,
Cleansing from sin when gone astray;
For He does bear the sins of all,
Since the time Adam took the fall.
